Keynote Speaker: Chaplain Darren Bennett

AJA Board Chaplain Darren Bennett delivers a powerful message on leadership, wellness, and resilience.

Chaplain Darren Bennett’s talk can be captured in one simple sentence: “We can’t be helpful leaders unless we are self-full leaders.” In other words, the better we care for ourselves, the better we can care for others.

He emphasizes that leadership is a long game. Over time, leaders build trust, equity, and influence with those they serve—but that work should never come at the expense of their own well-being or lead to burnout.

In this keynote, Darren draws from his professional experience as a staff chaplain with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, as well as his lived experience and personal journey through functional depression, grief, and trauma. He shares how those experiences shaped his understanding of leadership, and the path he took toward healing and wellness.

His message is both candid and practical, offering a grounded reminder that sustainable leadership begins with intentional self-care—and that caring for others and caring for oneself must go hand in hand.

Chaplain Darren Bennett invites you to his keynote, where he’ll cover self-care, resilience, and leadership.
