Congratulations to the 48th Graduating Class of the National Jail Leadership Academy
Thirty-five men and women from sixteen states graduated on November 9, 2023, as members of Class 48 of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy (NJLCA). The leadership program is a collaboration of the American Jail Association and the Correctional Management Institute of Texas and is held on the campus of the Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
Through five days of instruction by veteran jail practicioners and through interaction with one another, graduates developed leadership skills that enable them to successfully transition to leadership positions in their agencies.
CMIT Executive Director Doug Dretke received a special award of appreciation from the AJA Board of Directors at the Class 48 NJLCA Banquet on November 9, 2023. Doug played a vital role in assisting AJA with the development and implementation of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy. AJA Board Member and instructor Fred Meyer presented the award on behalf of AJA.
